I hate turkey. I have always hated turkey.
I love these sweet and spicy turkey burgers.
Because they aren’t dry,
They are FULL of flavour,
Because these burgers mix unexpected flavours together AND
Because there is a party in your mouth with every bite.
But don’t take my word for it.
I’m a vegetarian.
But when I wasn’t, which was like 4 weeks ago :0, they were AWESOME!
Preparation time: 7 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 6 people
Total cost (this recipe was made with 100% organic ingredients including kosher organic ground turkey) : $29.88
1 lbs Ground turkey breast (I bought organic ground kosher turkey)
2 tbsp. Chipotle mayo
2 slices pineapple, cut into small dice
1/3 c. Cilantro, chopped
1/2 inch fresh ginger, diced small
4 green onions, white parts only, diced small
1 tbsp. garlic aioli sauce
1/3 c. canaloni beans, optional (to add more fiber)
To make the sandwich:
Vegan cheese (or real cheese if you aren’t kosher. No one is judging you here. Except for my Rabbi who reads this blog regularly.)
Preheat oven to broil 550 degrees. These burgers do not cook well on the grill. They are very moist and will most probably break apart. You’ve been warned
Begin by combining all the ingredients of the turkey burger together. Line an aluminum baking tray with foil and spray with non stick spray. Make patties and place on tray.
Cook until dark brown on the outside, about 10 minutes, maybe less depending on your oven. If using vegan cheese, I used provolone, place on top of burger when there is about 1 minute cooking time left to allow the vegan cheese to melt.
Assemble on a bun with whatever you like.
Now watch them disappear:
